I shall learn to hula

Do you know why i need to learn to hula?!?!?
Brett and I get to go to HAWAII in two weeks!!! It's still surreal because we just found out for sure a couple day ago. Brett had a bride contact him about shooting their reception when they got back from their destination wedding in Hawaii. So Brett proposed the idea to them that he could shoot the wedding as well, if they were willing. They had already paid for this big wedding package and it included a photographer so the bride called the wedding planner to see if she could cancel the photographer. She couldn't so she told Brett he wouldn't be able to go because they couldn't cancel the photographer that they already had. We were both upset but we never hold our breath about situations like that. THEN, on Christmas Eve Brett had an e-mail from the bride again. She couldn't stop thinking about how great Brett would do if he were to shoot their wedding and he needed to call her to talk about details! So Brett made the phone call, which he usually hates to do, without hesitation. A small amount of convincing and she told Brett she was pretty sure she wanted him to go. We still didn't hold our breath though because it wasn't a definite yes. So Brett met with her on the 27th and she signed a contract and gave him the address to the hotel! Brett asked me to go along and if they can cancel their hairdresser I'll be doing everyone's hair for the wedding as well!!
God is so good to me. He has blessed me beyond what I deserve. God is good.

Mustache Christmas Cookies

Christmas is NEXT week! I can't even believe it! This is very sad but this is the first year I've not been in a festive mood months before Christmas... SO I had Kelsey and Emily come over for some baking!

Kelsey and Emily are two of my dearest friends. I would do anything in the world for them and I love them like sisters. We always have a blast when we're together.

We had supper, a gift exchange, and then we baked... Supper and gifts went well. Baking... not so much haha. Emily decided we needed to make the cookies from scratch so... we mixed up all the ingredients and sprinkled some flower on the table. At this point i realized there is not a rolling pin at Brett's apartment. Woops. As we looked around for round objects that could work as a rolling pin Kelsey spots a hamster ball haha. Don't worry we didn't use it we used a cup. haha. While our cookies were baking we made gingerbread houses! It was interesting. This is Emily's house.

Kelsey's house...

Our Finished projects!

The reason i called this post Mustache Christmas cookies is because Emily held up a seahorse cookie and thought it was a mustache haha. Here is the visual.

We were very entertained trying to take this picture! Sprinkles kept falling off our lips and getting stuck to our teeth. You see, when you have sprinkles on your lips you have to try not to smile or this will happen. Some how we managed to get this dorky picture. Enjoy!

Our cookies didn't turn out very well but our gingerbread houses, pretzels, and company of one another turned out perfect.
I think it is safe to say that i am in the Christmas mood now! I just wish it would snow a few inches and I'd really be good to go!

A Glimmer of hope...

Adorable photos taken by my lovely boyfriend Brett Jarnagin.

I have an 8 month old niece named Lea Grace Davis.  Yes i have a sister. a younger sister.  I never, in a million years, thought I'd be an aunt at 20 years old.  But she's here, I'm an aunt, and God is good.  So i have decided to teach Lea sign language.  Just a little here and there.  I don't really know much more than what I'm teaching her but i think it's a lot of fun.  The book I got says you should start signing to them between 6 and 8 months.  I started at 6 because I was so excited.  The book says not to lose hope because they probably won't sign back to you until they are a year.  I don't get much help from my sister with this because she thinks I'm crazy so today Lea and I got to prove her wrong!  Today she was sitting on the floor and i waved to her and said, "Hi baby Lea!"  she just laughed and looked away.  So i did it again and again.  Finally she raised her hand up at me and cooed.  So i clapped and clapped for her.  So i kept doing this until she was finally waving.  Now she does it on command.  I know this is a very common thing but it's still sign language and it gives me hope that she will continue to learn and sign back to me.

I don't know what i would do without this girl...

Hello world

Oh dear...
I have started a blog haha.  I have been absolutely terrified of doing this.  I don't usually care too much what someone thinks of me but i guess that's mainly just with what i wear.... But I've been scared to start a blog because i think i have nothing interesting to blog about or i won't put it into words very well.  So for the past two months that i've been contemplating a blog I've had something i've wanted to blog about almost daily!  So I needed to get this introductory blog out of the way so i can start with the real stuff!

Thank you to everyone who pushed me into getting a blog i hope i love it and i hope no one makes fun of my lack of blogging skills!
